About certification
IPMA is an international project management association that brings together specialists from more than 70 countries. Certification is based on a globally recognised competency standard developed by IPMA. It describes 28 elements of competence, grouped into three areas: Perspective, People, Practice.
Levels of certification (4-L-C system)
- Level D — Certified Project Management Associate: basic level, knowledge of methods and tools
- Level C — Certified Project Manager: management of medium-complexity projects
- Level B — Certified Senior Project Manager: management of large and complex projects or programmes
- Level A — Certified Project Director: strategic level, portfolio or organisation
